Golestan Palace, Tehran

Golestan Palace is one of the oldest building complexes in Tehran, Iran. It became the seat of government for the Qajar family who came into power in 1779 and made Tehran the capital of the country. It is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Taking pictures is allowed only in the outside area as well as inside only a couple of halls. Below are a few pictures we managed to take during our recent trip to Iran.  The last seven pictures are taken from some historic pictures dating back 110-140 years ago. Hope you enjoy…
